YEAR 7 SELECT ENTRY PROGRAM (SELP)

A Program of High Expectations and High Achievements

Year 7 SELP applications for 2023 must have received a year 7 placement at our College via the normal Primary to Secondary transition process to be eligible to apply for this program. Families with successful placements received an email from us on 21st July 2022. For future years applicants, your child’s government Primary School will assist you during grade 6 with your secondary school placement application (or see our enrolments page).

Please ensure you have also read and understand the entry requirements before continuing.

On 21st July 2022, those with confirmed year 7 placements at our College for 2023 received an enrolment offer welcome email.
Please follow the links and information provided within this email to complete the below steps by 5th August.
If you do not have this email, you are ineligible to apply.

REGISTER & PAY FOR EDUTEST

Please follow the link provided in your welcome email to register and pay online for the Edutest (non-refundable).

2022>23 YEAR 7 SELP TESTING DAY INFORMATION

The year 7 SELP testing for the 2023 program will be held on SATURDAY 13 AUGUST 2022 on-site at the College.

Applicants must have completed all of the above steps by 5th August to be eligible to sit this test.

Due to the current Coronavirus health protocols and to ensure safe distancing is maintained for the Select Entry Learning Program test on August 13th we request you familiarise yourself with the following: 

·         Students should not attend if they have any of these symptoms: fever, shortness of breath, flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat or runny nose.
·         Should a child be coughing or sneezing consistently during the testing, parents will be contacted to collect the child.


ARRIVAL TIMES & REGISTRATION GATES FOR TESTING DAY ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Parents: Please arrive at your scheduled time and depart when your child has registered.
Parents and Students: Please wear a mask when lining up for registration and thereafter.


Between 8.15AM – 8.30AM
Gate 1 : Student Family Name Commencing with A to G
Gate 2 : Student Family Name Commencing with H to K


Between 8.31AM – 8.45AM
Gate 1: Student Family Name Commencing with L to P
Gate 2: Student Family Name Commencing with R to Z


Refer to the image below for gate locations at the front of the school (Duncans Road).
It is safest and best if parents park away from the school and walk to their entrance gate


Completion of Testing:
Parents should be present to pick up their children by 12.00 o’clock. Please maintain Social Distance.
We will supervise all students until they are picked up, unless arrangements have been made for them to go home by themselves.
 
Material Requirements:
·        Bring on the day: Two pens, two pencils (2B or HB), eraser and pencil sharpener.

No other items are permitted:
·      Watches, pencil cases, calculators, scribbling paper, etc. are not permitted.
 
Recommendations:
·         We recommend that the students have a normal breakfast to help keep their energy level up through the course of the tests.
·         Students should bring refreshments of a drink and a snack to have during the break between the two parts of the testing.

Student’s can take a free online practice test to familiarize themselves with the ‘types’ of questions encountered in the test.
Please note that the actual test format on the day will differ.
No practice results are recorded; only you see your practice results.
