WERRIBEE SECONDARY COLLEGE | Live Worthily

Welcome To Werribee

From The Principal

It is with great pleasure that I welcome our new year 7 students and their families to Werribee Secondary College. Our school has a proud tradition of supporting every student to be their best and to truly ‘Live Worthily’. At Werribee, we focus on nurturing the whole student. We understand that adolescence is a time of growth, change, and challenges, that’s why we are committed to supporting our students socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. We have strong support structures in place to help students develop self-awareness, make positive choices, and achieve their best in all areas of school life. As students progress through the college, they are encouraged to explore pathways and take advantage of a wide range of extracurricular opportunities to pursue their interests or gain valuable leadership skills. I encourage you to explore the information provided on this website to learn more about the vibrant community and opportunities available at our school. I’m looking forward to meeting you soon and supporting you on this exciting new journey.

Student Wellbeing & Support

Year 7 Curriculum

At Werribee Secondary College students undertake a learning program based on the Victorian Curriculum, and participate in a daily homegroup session. This program has been well established at year 7 to assist with the transition from primary to secondary school. Students study all key learning areas: English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Health & Phys Ed, Technology, Arts and Languages (LOTE).

Morning homegroup sessions encompass many aspects of student wellbeing, establish a connection with a peer group and dedicated teacher, embed school values and behaviours, and encourage participation in short topical activities.

Students who obtain places in year 7 SELP have all classes together, undertaking accelerated Mathematics, Science and Humanities, extension in English, Music, Arts and Technology, and personal goals in Health and Physical Education, as well as their chosen language. See the SELP page for more details.
